A little girl's First Communion

I attended my little cousins First Communion last Sunday, I was so happy to be back with my family. Sometimes it's hard to be at school so long and come back to your family being different. What I mean is, they look so different than they did the last time you saw them.  From a silly, youthful uncle to a man who resembles your grandpa. Or a short little toddler to an awkward little girl who you swear is going to hit puberty faster than you did. Most are just graying and have wrinkles that you've never seen before. It's funny, while you're in such a hurry to grow up, you never stop to think that others are growing and aging around you as well. I wish I could stop time and live in a moment forever.

Last semester of school

I have never been more busy...this last semester of school has been tough and I'm surprisingly looking forward to the end.

I don't have time to read, work on my short stories, or even watch my shows that I used to schedule everything around. Is this what becoming a grown up in the "real world" is? -Yuck.

Eyes Shut Haiku

My eyes close for Sleep.
He welcomes me- an old friend,
This is just our time.

Pink Slime, bon appetit!

Before you make that automatic "mmmm" noise, let me tell you that this is not strawberry ice cream. This little treat here is called pink Slime.
"Pink slime is when they take all the cow parts left over after everything usable has been removed from a cow, grind it up, sterilize it with ammonium hydroxide (which may not work), then shape it into burgers and other food-like products," (Mike Elgan).

The U.S. government just bought 7 million pounds of it to distribute to schools around the nation.Check out the news article below from The Washington Post. Bon appetit!
